Measuring Snowfall
Accurately Measuring snowfall when there is blowing and drifting snow is very difficult. The National Weather Service suggests that you take an average of several readings at your location.
As the data below indicates there is a considerable difference across the area. Some of that difference may result from pockets of heavier snow moving across one area but missing others.
The official measurement for the National Weather Service at the Town Topics Weather station in Pen Argyl was 24 inches.

Our Snowy Winter Not the Snowiest
Yesterday’s snowfall netted four more inches on top  of the 36 inches that have fallen in the last three and one half weeks for a total of 40 inches bringing our current annual total to 54.25 inches. The average for the entire season is about 35 inches.
Believe it or not, this is only the fourth snowiest winter in the past 10 years. The winter of 2013-14  is the highest at 61.50,  followed by 2017-18 with 59.75 inches and 2014-15 with 54.50.
We have had seven measurable snowfalls since January 31, and much of that snow is still on the ground
Fortunately, there are no major snowstorms forecasted for the next seven days. In fact, temperatures are expected to be normal or slightly above with only a minimal shot at a few flakes of snow.
Rain and snow showers likely, becoming all rain after 1pm. Patchy freezing fog before 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
